The Rio Minho valley region, in Northern Portugal, is synonymous with rest, tranquility and relaxation…

If you are looking for a few days to relax and experience nature, this is the ideal destination for your trip.

Here you can learn a little bit about the rich history of Northern Portugal and enjoy all of the pleasures that nature in its most original state can offer.

Explore the cool and verdant region that contains Rio Minho. In Melgaço, visit Solar do Alvarinho and the nearby Fiães Monestary, the Senhora da Orada and Paderne churches, and the traditional village of Castro Laboreiro.

Also discover the Aquamuseum in Vila Nova de Cerveira and stroll through the Camarido National Forest in Caminha.

In Monção, enjoy the views provided by the belvederes and terraces, and peruse the walls surrounding the historical center, which features monuments such as the Matriz Church, Misericórdia Church and the Santo António dos Capuchos Church.

Do not leave this area without visiting its wineries and trying the different varieties of this region’s refreshing wine, the Vinho Verde, ideal for accompanying fish and seafood or for serving during a small break during the day.
