The beaches of Porto

Very close to Porto, there are beaches that will provide you with unique surfing conditions. The International Porto Beach is an urban beach, next to the city park, lively during the day and at night.  Nearby, in Matosinhos, you will find a beach with a wide stretch of sand and excellent conditions for surfing beginners. Here there are several schools where you can learn or perfect this sport, like Onda Pura and the Surf Training School.

Espinho is "the" place for surf in Northern Portugal. The beaches of Silvalde, Praia Azul and Praia da Baía are very popular among surfers and they're just 20km away from Porto. You will also find various schools such as Surf Atitude, Mar Academy and Surfjah.

A Backdrop of International Competitions

The beaches of Porto and Northern Portugal are often the venue for various national and international surfing competitions. One example is Espinho Surf Destination Pro Junior, that in 2015 will take place between 25 and 28 June. The unique conditions of this site, including the Praia da Baía, made Espinho be chosen for the second time in a row to be the stage of this competition. If you're in Porto these days, you can not miss this event!

If you're a surf lover come visit the best beaches for it. If you have not given yourself to this sport yet, do not miss the opportunity to try some classes in these beaches that offer unique conditions. You can also take advantage of the opportunity and watch the Espinho Surf Destination Pro Junior event. Contact us for a plan where surfing will have an important role in your visit. We want to introduce to you the best of Porto and Northern Portugal.
