The Marion Gold band became part of the iconography of the 80's with the debut album 'Forever Young' and the three singles that were Top 20 in several countries. More than 2 million albums sold in one of the most auspicious debut of the European 'pop', while in the United States they reached the 1st at the 'dance chart' of Billboard. The secret was the perfect fusion of the facet 'crooner' of Bryan Ferry, the 'pop' richeness songs of Roxy Music and the electronic beats of Kraftwerk, the main influences of the founders Marion Gold and Bernard Lloyd, assiduous goers and participants of the Berliner collective multimedia Nelson Community. The result were epic songs, easy to sing and dance, who invaded the radios and the dancefloors around the world and put the Alphaville in the circuit of the big world tours of electronic music and other bastions of the 80's as Dépèche Mode, Human League or Ultravox. Over 30 years the Alphaville plunged deeper in electronic music and synthesizers, producing increasingly ambitious discs that both led to work with Klaus Schulze (Tangerine Dream) as with 'remixers' from 'house' and 'techno'. Along the way were honored for artists such as Jay-Z, whose version 'Young Forever' was the fourth single of 'The Blueprint 3', his 2010 album that would sell more than 3 million copies. There are several concerts, including the 2010 at Coachella in which the version of Alphaville is sung in Duet with Beyoncé. The experimentalism led them to increasingly spacing releases: 3 albums in the 80's, 2 in the 90's, 1 in 00's and 2 years in this decade, including what comes out in April 2017 with Universal label, 'Strange Attractor'. But the discography has grown with the growth of the 'Electronic Dance Music': cyclical compilations, remixes discs , DVDs and live albums recorded at concerts all over the world, from Salt Lake City to Johannesburg. Since 2004 the Alphaville are on the road with a new line-up which eventually evolve to the clasic model: bass, drums, guitar, keyboards and vocals. The voice, t the unmistakable Marion Gold: 'forever young' and 'sounding li mke a melody'.
